PPG Minutes of 16th January 2025 Meeting

Minutes from the last Meeting
Minutes - of the November 2024 meeting were approved unanimously
Matters Arising
- Patient Survey – Hannah to send out the document.
Staffing
- There are 24 GPs. Will update FTE at next meeting.
- Other Clinicians to be added to the website for patients to have information, plus to know what they can do to help other Clinicians.
- Level 5 GP’s mentor newer GP’s
- Nursing Team capacity is good and the wait to see if Nursing Staff is short.
- GP’s - there is possibly a two week wait, plus on the day appointments.
- There will be 6 Pharmacists in the Pharmacy Team again in March.
- Paramedic has joined and is managing Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP’s), Social Prescribers, Physios.
- A small practice in Cowley is supported by PML – a partner practice.
- Bridge Street remains part of Banbury Cross Health Centre and is used on Wednesday for Spirometry tests.
Complaints, Compliments and Feedback
- 18 complaints in December which were dealt with quickly, they go to Dr. Sanders and James M actions the letters to the patients.
Vaccinations
- Query re - more people presenting with Flu this year - the uptake for the vaccine has been lower this year.
- People who are well and under 65 years old weren’t offered a Flu vaccination this time (in line with NHSE guidance).
- The RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccine came out in September for the 75 -79 age group, this vaccine has been found not to be effective over the age of 80.
- People who turned 80 from 1st September 2024 are eligible until 31/08/2025 as part of a catch up programme
Donald McIver Pharmacy Team Manager
- The team process 100-120 documents a day that are sent from e.g. hospitals.
- Many Patient consultations and advice are carried out over the phone each day.
Any other Business
- The Committee is set up for 20 people – plus a virtual Committee if more than 20.
- Over 100,000 COVID Vaccinations have been administered since December 2020
- Donald thanked the PPG members who have been involved with the vaccination clinics for their help.
- Kevin Murphy (Practice Manager) reported the Staff are a really good team, Friendly and professional. Recruiting the right people into the team. The culture is good.
