Dr Kennard - RCGP/NIHR CRN First5 Research Award for early career GP's
Banbury Cross Health Centre is thrilled to announce that our Research Team has received further acknowledgement of the work they undertake.
The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) collaborate to recognise clinicians and practices that demonstrate excellence and innovation in delivering NIHR CRN research.
Our Research Lead, Dr James Kennard, has been presented with the RCGP/NIHR CRN First5 Research Award for early career GPs by Prof Kamila Hawthorne, Chair RCGP Council, at the RCGP Annual Conference in Glasgow. Additionally, BCHC received a letter of commendation in the Practice Award category which stated that ‘the panel felt that the quality of your practice’s engagement with CRN research should be recognised through this formal commendation from both the RCGP and the CRN’.
Dr Kennard has said:
“It’s an honour to receive the First5 Award but I’m even more thrilled about the commendation in the Practice Award category as it acknowledges the wider multi-disciplinary research team at BCHC. The wonderful research opportunities available to our patients would not be possible if I was working in isolation; I am supported by fantastic administrators, nurses, GPs and pharmacists in delivering our research studies. It is a privilege to share this award with them.”
